IQ Glass in Valuable Commuter Hubs

Written by Rebecca Clayton

How to Improve Natural Light in Narrow Properties
A recent study by Savills Research shows that commuters are now the driving force amongst out of London housing price increases. Commuters looking for a more affordable way of life radiate out of London along the miles of train lines in search of affordable housing.

The list compiled by the property company lists the 20 most valuable areas that commuters retreat to. They include the expected commuter hubs such as Sevenoaks, Harpenden and St Albans but also the less glamorous towns that get an economy boost from this spreading web of wealth such as Slough, Tonbridge and Shenfield.

As the wealth and high net worth workers start to leave London so do the building opportunities for the housing market. IQ Glass operate all over the UK but most of the work was concentrated in London. Now we too are noticing the spreading wealth to the surrounding commuter areas of London with these households now having the available income to improve or even build their own homes in these more wallet friendly areas.

These out of London areas also can offer much more space, allowing the creation of new grand homes that would be out of the realm of possibility inside the area of London.

IQ Examples:

The Rise, Elstree: minimal windows sliding glass doors were used to the rear of this contemporary extension

IQ provided our most popular minimal windows sliding doors to a rear extension to this 5 bed family home in the Hertfordshire town of Elstree. The property value in the area averages around £900,000 but with the addition of the contemporary extension this property value will be higher than average.

White Lodge, Oxted: Fixed structural glazing, minimal windows sliding doors, aluminium windows and bespoke structural glazing all help this new home achieve the 'wow' factor
