Few Limitations on Size
Using bespoke shaped glazing, IQ have installed an oversized curved structural glazing elevation at the showroom. The double glazed unit is split into three panes, silicone jointed together for the most minimal design and specified with different finishes on either side. On the external face of the glass, Anka bespoke pressings offer a unique design that grants the appearance of preserved wood with a metallic finish.
The Cascade finish was chosen for its architectural bronze appearance, offering architects and specifiers the opportunity to see one of the most popular trends in glazing right now. To contrast the metallic finish, charred timber cladding by Technowood was brought over the timber structure on the internal face of the glass to create a frameless glass finish.
The curved glazing uses an 18mm argon gas filled cavity, achieving Uw values of just 1.0W/m2K with a glass thickness of 34mm. Reaching almost 2 metres tall, the curved installation is a perfect example of non-linear architecture and has been designed to showcase what can be achieved with bespoke engineered structural glazing.
The curved structural glass is a great addition to the glazing showroom, introducing curved edges and shaped glazing into the open plan space and combining traditional finishes with modern glazing trends.
