British Home Awards 2014

Two projects nominated in ‘One off House or Extension’ category

Two of IQ’s iconic projects of the past year have been nominated for the British Home Awards 2014. The award, sponsored by the Sunday Times, recognises the best home designs of the past year.

Both of IQ’s projects have been nominated within the ‘One-off House or Extension’ category.

The first nomination is for the contemporary new build home to the rear garden of a traditional Victorian home in London. The design by De Matos Ryan architects utilises IQ’s minimally framed sliding glass doors as well as various aspects of frameless structural glazing in order to create a contemporary home extension for the growing family. Secondly our rear glass extension ‘Dalston House’ has also been nominated.

HUT architecture designed a contemporary addition to this traditional terrace home in East London using large areas of structural glazing.

IQ designed and installed the structural glass roof, minimal roof supports, slim framed sliding doors, frameless windows, standard aluminium casement doors and corresponding aluminium pressings all integrating together for a neat and uniform external finish.

Both projects have already received press attention as you can see at IQ in the Media.

The categories are judged by a panel of industry experts and the winners will be announced in September at a presentation lunch which IQ Glass will be attending so look out for pictures in the near future!

If either of IQ’s nominated projects is declared winners this year it will be the second year in a row one of our projects has been named Home of the Year. Fingers Crossed.
