Claywood House Shortlisted for RIBA South Regional Awards

low carbon home design shortlisted for RIBA award

Claywood House has been shortlisted for the RIBA South Award! The sustainable new build was designed with the wheelchair user homeowner in mind, creating a space that she is able to independently use and travel around freely.

It was important that the glazing systems were both minimal and practical, with flush thresholds to create step-free access between indoor and outdoor environments. The obvious choice was large slim framed sliding glass doors, which are well suited to any modern home design.

Elsewhere in the low carbon home, frameless structural glazing was used to create large elevations of frameless glass windows. These frameless windows granted completely uninterrupted views of the surrounding gardens whilst flooding the internal living spaces throughout the day.

We worked with architects Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt to create a home that was both practical and minimal, suiting the family’s needs perfectly.
