Treeside

Incredible New Build With Floor To Ceiling Glass Sliding Doors

Treeside is a landmark contemporary residence situated within the prestigious Wentworth Estate in Surrey. Designed by Lewandowski Architects, the home spans approximately 2000sqm across three levels and sits within more than five acres of secluded woodland. IQ Glass delivered the full architectural glazing package, including extensive slim sliding doors on Wentworth Estate, frameless structural glazing, large rooflights and concealed balustrade systems. These glazing elements define the modern architectural expression of the home, connecting interior spaces to the landscape while maintaining an elegant, low‑profile finish.

Modern Glazing in a Prestigious Estate Setting

The Wentworth Estate is known for architect‑designed properties set within mature woodland, where privacy, scale and architectural consistency shape all design decisions. Treeside required a glazing strategy that could integrate seamlessly with natural stone walls, iroko cladding and extensive landscaping while delivering large openings, high levels of daylight and minimal sightlines.

The home’s geometry demanded sliding door systems up to 3.38m tall and spanning more than 7m in width, with flush transitions between rooms and terraces. Multiple levels required structural glass walls, rooflights and balustrades positioned to introduce daylight into deep internal spaces and circulation routes. The glazing also needed to complement high‑spec interior finishes and provide a consistent visual language across the façade. The architects and clients were looking for a single glazing company who could deliver the full glazing package, from specialist slim sliding doors to casement windows and more. IQ Glass were uniquely placed to provide this using our large portfolio of glazing products and extensive experience in structural and minimally framed glazing.

Large Format Slim Sliding Doors for Panoramic Garden Views

IQ Glass supplied a wide range of slim sliding door systems across the ground and lower‑ground floors, enabling principal living areas, leisure spaces and circulation routes to open directly onto landscaped terraces and external seating areas. These slim sliding doors on Wentworth Estate ranged from two‑track to four‑track configurations, with panel heights up to 3.38m and impressive widths exceeding 7m. The 21mm thermally broken aluminium profiles maintain minimal sightlines, preserving uninterrupted views of the grounds.

Several elevations incorporated pocket sliding systems, allowing door panels to recess fully into cavity walls and disappear from view when open. Consistent flush thresholds ensure step‑free transitions between indoor spaces and outside terraces, supporting the home’s indoor–outdoor lifestyle and creating a strong connection between the architecture and woodland setting.

Structural Glazing, Rooflights and Frameless Balustrades

To maintain visual continuity across the home, IQ Glass installed extensive frameless structural glazing across the upper and lower floors. Fixed structural panes up to 7m wide and 6.66m tall were installed to create uninterrupted sightlines and large-format glazing to circulation spaces, lounge areas and basement leisure facilities.

The roof glazing package includes multiple frameless structural rooflights, with fixed units up to 7m long and electrically opening rooflights positioned for natural ventilation. These rooflights introduce daylight deep into the plan, illuminating internal corridors, bathrooms and the central staircase.

Externally, frameless balustrades surround terrace edges and lightwells, delivering safety without visible structural obstruction. Their concealed base channels maintain the minimalist aesthetic and harmonise with the property’s natural stone and glazing palette.

Architectural Character and Property Value

Treeside exemplifies the contemporary architecture now seen in the most desirable parts of the Wentworth Estate. Its blend of natural materials, expansive glazing and refined detailing has led to the home being featured in national publications and used as a filming location. The extensive use of slim sliding doors and structural glazing significantly enhances interior light levels, strengthens the relationship with the large woodland site and contributes to long‑term property value in an area where design, scale and finish are key drivers of market appeal.
